Erchonia's lasers are noninvasive, fast and effective modality that has been proven in clinical trials to reduce pain, reduce edema (swelling), promote healing and increase mobility (range of motion) through cellular regeneration (soft tissue and bone repair).  These lasers create profound physiological changes in your body naturally. Most "other" lasers DO NOT have clinical studies to prove their effectiveness.

Our office utilizes advanced technology including Erchonia cold laser therapy. These lasers are low level lasers that deliver deep penetrating low intensity photonic energy that create naturally healing in the body and do no harm. These lasers are cold (NO heat produced), there is no sensation felt by the patient.

Commonly Asked Questions & Answers

What is Low Level Laser Therapy?

Low Level Laser therapy is the use of low intensity photonic energy as a treatment modality. Photons are the unit measurement of light therefore the lasers use light at a low level healing frequencies.

How does Low Level Laser (3LT™) work?

Photonic stimuli excite the body's cells infusing them with energy, with the three primary reactions being, reduction of inflammation, cell regeneration, and increased blood flow (circulation). Lasers penetrate the body into the cells and excite the mitochondria (the cells "powerhouse" where 90% of the energy you use is derived) therefore creating "good" energy  in the form of ATP (Adenosine-triposphate) that promotes healing, circulation and rebuilding of the soft tissue and bone in the body.

What is it used for?

Our office utilizes the lasers primarily for healing and repair of the entire body including soft tissue and bone. The potential applications of Low Level Laser (3LT™) are almost limitless, however; to date Erchonia has received market clearance for Neck and Shoulder Pain, Acne and Breast Augmentation which means Erchonia performs clinical trials and patient studies to show their efficacy and success outcomes. Erchonia's lasers have numerous benefits for healing scar tissue, inflammation and cosmetic enhancements.

Erchonia continues to conduct clinical trials in pursuit of discovering more medical applications.

Going from top to bottom some conditions treated: Headaches, Migraines, Cranial Faults, Tinnitus (ringing in the ear), Ear infections, Spine, (Neck, Mid and Low Back), Disc Herniations, Disc Bulges-Protrusion, Shoulder, Ribs, Elbows, Hands, Carpal Tunnel, Tennis-Golfers elbow, Tendonitis (anywhere), Organs, Detoxify, Sciatica, Hips, Muscle Strains, Fibrotic Conditions, Ligament Sprains, Knee, Meniscus Tears, Sprained Ankles, Broken Bones, Degenerative conditions of the spine and body and Joint Replacements. Skin conditions such as excema, rashes, fungi, burns, acne and post surgical scars. Erchonia lasers also have numerous cosmetic treatments available.
Please note there are many conditions that can be treated. To find out if lasers can help you please call our office to make an appointment and discuss your health options with the doctor.

What are the benefits of low-laser therapy?

Low Level Laser Therapy is a noninvasive, fast and effective modality that has been proven in clinical trial to reduce pain, reduce edema and promote healing through cellular regeneration.

How safe is Low Level Laser Therapy?

Low Level Laser Therapy has is very safe, the only general precaution is the use of special filtering glasses when a class 3B laser is in use.

How deep into the tissue can laser light penetrate?

The lasers penetrate the photonic energy deep therefore creating significant physiologic changes. The depth of penetration is dependent on multiple factors including mass and density, however since low level laser has been proven in clinical study to effect subcutaneous cells; the point is low level laser, does penetrate; as opposed to the heat lamp devices that do not.

Applications
Is Low Level Laser Therapy painful?

No, our office has never had a patient report any negative sensation. Erchonia states that most people do not feel anything, for those that have reported a feeling; it is nothing more than a slight sensation of tingling.

How is Low Level Laser Therapy administered?

Each hand held laser is about the size of a standard remote control. The mechanics of how low level laser therapy is administered is based on the indication for use, however; the general process is the probe containing the laser diode(s) are held in place or moved gently over the treatment area at a distance of anywhere from 4" - 12."

How long does it take for the laser to heal or improve a condition?

This is dependent of the application, however; progress is immediately evident.

What's the difference between Lasers vs. LED?

Erchonia 3LT™ devices used electric diodes, which are high end, culminated and strictly measured within a plus/minus .05%.  LEDs are inexpensive, non-focused wide range light sources.  The primary difference is in performance and depth of penetration, Laser diodes penetrate, working subcutaneously, LEDs do not affecting surface only.

Research
What clinical studies have been conducted using Low Level Laser?

Erchonia has sponsored numerous clinical trials and continues to promote low level laser as a modality through ongoing research.  To see all completed study results and the on-going study progress please visit the manufacturer Erchonia's website at www.Erchonia.com and click under research.

Compliance
Are Erchonia Low Level Laser devices tested to ensure safety?

Erchonia Medical develops, design and manufactures devices in accordance to both FDA and International standards for Medical Device Quality Standards.  Prior to release to production, finished devices are tested to Medical Safety standards for Laser Controls, EMC and Safety.

Contraindications
Are there any conditions which would prevent me from using?

There are no code regulated contra indications, however; since there are no long term evaluations on certain conditions, Erchonia does not recommend use on pregnant women or persons with a pace maker.

Does laser therapy cause heat damage or cancer in the tissue?

No, low level laser by virtue of design is no heat producing and does not alter the cell structure.  The laser irradiation is non-ionizing meaning it does not collect in tissue.

Are there any side effects?

No negative side effects reported by patients. Some persons have reported a sense of deep relaxation that may cause drowsiness

Are there any complications to the treatments?

There are no known and / or published adverse effects of Low Level Laser Therapy.
